Shadows and Echoes
“Be flashing! be booming! Take th’ world by a storm.
Make your actions be seen and be told!”
(So long as they fit the approved shape and form,
And the risks that you take fit the mold)
Insurance in numbers, so align with the group:
The incrediblecrowd, single-file;
The way-pavers racing the tarmac in troops,
Proudly chanting “unique” all-the-while.
But beware should you step on the treadmill heroic
Where they race with hermian speeds;
And caution the bullhorn that amplifies stoic
Courageously pre-approved screeds.
For a cheetah’s own shadow can always keep pace,
And echoes in canyons boom loud;
But better to plot your own route in this race
Than to cravenly plod with the crowd.
