Night Walk (#1)

In light, cool crisp of nighttime stroll

One loses self to musing;

Whatever heightened stress's toll,

Well this is the defusing.

One walks in peace and mulls thoughts through

Beneath the drunkard's sun,

As solvent darkness slow reclaims

What ground the day has won.

Day is haste and full of work,

of worries or of waste,

and in its close can leave in wake

A tired, bitter taste.

But feel within the glowing freckles

Of Artemis's face,

And sense beneath her crescent smile:

Here worry has no place.
