On Mistakes

Unbrokenness and purity

Stand surety too oft

For character and worth in mate

And so inflate aloft:

A worthiness in personhood

Misunderstood as great

When much this place

Is empty space unable to relate.

Experience, if it occur,

To character is more aligned.

And mistakes’ duress

Can better press a forming of the mind.

What I trust more

Has gone before in knowing joy and grief.

So when it stands

It grips its hands more tightly round belief.
